“Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness” (Matthew 9:35).

Throughout the ministry of Jesus, He provided spiritual and physical healing to the sick and broken. We are a community of believers that lives, works, and serves in the heart of the largest medical center in the world. Every day, 160,000 visitors come to the Texas Medical Center seeking physical healing and medical care. Our vision is to provide a place of comfort, hope, and spiritual healing to patients and their families. We are a diverse community that welcomes and loves those in need because we have been there ourselves. For families that are travelling to Houston for short-term or long-term treatment, we want to be your family away from home. No matter the circumstances, we want to support you in any way possible. We are available for prayer, hospital visitation, meals, transportation to weekly worship services, and Bible studies.

Our ministry to patients and their families is available in the following languages: English, Spanish, Swiss German, German, Telugu, Mandarin, and Swahili.

Stories from some of our patient families

Our biggest concern, when we came to Houston in February 2010 from Orlando for treatment at MD Anderson was not having a Christian support group there. Our first day at the Med Center we met Cindy who invited us to CITC. We attended on Sunday and throughout our five months in Houston. Ben and Kelli Hays and the Believers at CITC became our family and support group. They prayed for us, encouraged us and came to the hospital when Richard was operated on. And the weekly home group kept us pumped up. We love the precious people at CITC and visit whenever we are in Houston. If you are receiving treatment at the Med Center we highly recommend CITC for the spiritual love and encouragement you will be showered with.

Our first born child, Landon, was born with a rare pediatric liver disease and ended up becoming a patient at Texas Children’s Hospital. The care we received there was awesome and all of the doctors, nurses, and staff at TCH were a huge blessing in our lives as they cared for our son.

Today, he is a happy and thriving almost three year old that, minus the scar, you would never know he’s been sick a day in his life. And though we are stilled followed closely by the TCH Liver Center and will be indefinitely, we are very grateful to God and the medical center community for the success of his health.
